An entrepreneur says he does not want to participate in a project. Then he gives ten reasons, nuances each reason and starts apologising. In the end, no one knows exactly what his decision is.

What becomes stronger in your message if you only say what is necessary?

Explanation is useful when the other person needs information. But explanation becomes less useful when you mainly try to get permission for a choice that has already been made.

Never confuse this with a legal obligation to inform, obligation to motivate or professional accountability obligation. Where explanation is necessary, it must remain complete.
