PREPARE AT YOUR OWN PACE

A practical question, a concern about the future or simply wanting to understand your situation. Find reliable websites here, our own guides and help for your next step.

Practical matters to arrange after the notarial deed

You have bought, sold, borrowed or gifted. What else do you need to arrange afterwards? Think of the bank, insurances, meter readings, subscriptions and documents. Start from the agreements in your deed and what actually changes. Some steps you prepare already before signing or handing over the keys.

What changes for you?

After a purchase or sale

Coordinate the key handover and meter reading on the agreed date. Arrange the supply of water and energy with the relevant companies. Discuss with your insurer in time from when which coverage is needed. If you move, also arrange telecom, post and your address details.

Prepare your purchase and transfer

After a loan

Keep the repayment schedule and ask the lender when the first payment takes place, how the repayments proceed and which documents are still needed for releasing funds. Check the agreed insurances. In a loan between private individuals, follow the payment and repayment arrangements from the agreement.

Understand your loan deed

After a gift

Look at which implementation is still needed: for example, a transfer, a transfer of securities or information to an insurer or syndic. Take into account reserved rights and cost agreements. A gift with reservation of usufruct does not mean that all contracts must be transferred to the beneficiary’s name. In case of doubt, first have the deed explained.

Follow up your gift and the agreements

Do you become owner without moving yourself, or does someone else continue to use the property? First have determined which data and contracts need to be changed.
