PREFER TO WRITE FIRST?
Your enquiry by email.
A short description is sufficient for first contact. Please also mention if there is a specific deadline or appointment.
Submit your question by emailAfter the initial conversation.
We want you to know which information is missing, who will gather it and what the next step is. Feel free to ask for unclear terms to be explained again. It is more important that you understand what a decision means than that you use the correct legal term.
CLEAR AGREEMENTS IN ADVANCE
What the guidance includes,
and what it costs?
A tax return including one account requires different work than a file involving real estate, gifts, a business and multiple heirs. That is why we define the scope of the assignment and discuss the estimate.
| Component | What are you paying for? |
|---|---|
| Inheritance tax | A tax payable to the government. This is not a fee for the office. |
| Notarial deeds and formalities | The necessary deeds, rights and costs associated with the specific acts. |
| Preparation and follow-up of the tax return | The agreed analysis, processing, consultation and submission. |
| Additional services | For example, external valuation, sales guidance or work involved in a dispute, according to separate agreements. |
Ask which items are estimated, what taxes or external costs may still follow and whether review of the assessment notice is included. When the assignment expands, we agree on those additional tasks.
The assignment for the tax return does not automatically take over the daily management of the assets. Payments, insurances and contracts therefore have a clearly assigned person responsible.

Frequently Asked Questions
FROM READING TO PREPARATION
Already a first answer.
What can I do if many things happen to me at once?
Start with one overview: contacts, received letters, ongoing appointments and questions. Use the topics and checklist on this page to divide the preparation. Immediately mention dated letters to the office.
Must one heir collect everything alone?
You can divide practical tasks among yourselves and keep track of who has which information. That alone does not indicate who may legally act. Discuss with the office who provides information and who should be involved in decisions.
Where can I find help with administration?
Our separate page about administration after death bundles practical information for subscriptions and services. The inheritance guide also assists you with the documents for the notaire and the progress of the declaration.
